Belladonna – Deadly Nightshade
Although highly poisonous when consumed direct from the plant, Belladonna in Homeopathic preparation is the number one remedy to think of for sudden high fevers. The onset of symptoms is violent; the inflamed area, or indeed the entire patient, is burning, red and hot to touch. The eyes are glassy with dilated pupils and the pulse is rapid. There may be hallucinations and delirium, twitching, convulsions, rage and even biting.
For nursing mothers, Belladonna can also prove highly valuable in cases of mastitis when the breasts are hot, hard and heavy, with red steaks running from the centre.
